hii, i'm going for a massive lunch with the girls tomorrow, but don't want to overdo it, what should i do?
should i have a smaller breakfast and dinner? and what's the best sort of food to choose? pretty standard restaurant, not a specialty one or anything. at the same time as wanting to eat carefully, i don't want to be salivating over my friend's plates!
xx

Eat smaller/less calorically dense breakfast or dinner, or skip one of them. Choose lean cuts of protein and veggies and make eating out a good nutritious meal.0

personally i would have a light breakfast and dinner.
id go for fish/meat and veg or salad and id probably get fries on the side lol!
Id say work out your breakfast and dinner now and see how many cals you have to play with, then maybe try and look up what kind of food is on offer, a bit of planning ahead is good!
Also, if you do go over DONT panic! its just one day!0 -

Tiny breakfast, eat whatever you want at lunch, workout like a fool tomorrow evening, then a tiny dinner. Done0

I'd get whatever you'd like and not really worry about cals. Get on track the next day.
if you were really concerned, you could fast up till lunch and then judge how hungry you are by the time dinner rolls around and make a meal according to how hungry you are0 -
If the restaurant has an online website, usually you can get nutritional info. That way, you can plan ahead before you go!0

Any time I go out to eat, I check the website for the place. If it's big enough, it will have nutrition facts online (more than likely).
If not, look at the menu and see if you can find the place in the food database and plan out your meal.
Or, like Acg67 said, don't worry about it. As long as it's not a normal thing (i.e. just once in week) going over your calorie goal isn't a bad thing. Just get back on track the next day. Some studies (which I can't find right now) have shown that completely destroying your diet for a day or two can help to increase weight loss.0 -
just go an enjoy yourself and put your diet on pause. consider it your cheat day and then just go back to your routine the next day.0

Hit the gym for an hour to give yourself a bit extra to play around with, calorie wise. Use your head and make smarter choices, but I do understand, sometimes a person just needs a cheeseburger and fries. When I have times like that, I try to make it a bit better, skip dipping my fries in ranch, order a boca or turkey burger instead of beef, no mayo, ect. You can do these little things with pretty much every meal. If you want a plate of spaghetti, only eat half the amount and save the rest for later. Skip the basket of bread. Ask for grilled chicken instead of breaded. There's tons of ways to still enjoy your meal but make it a bit less calorie dense. And if nothing else, just go for it and keep your food choices extra healthy the next couple of days.0

Look up the nutrition facts on the website. If you go there with a plan, you can work your other calories/workouts around the lunch. PLUS you're less likely to stray with complimentary rolls, biscuits, or w/e when you know exactly how many calories your lunch is (or they are!).0
