Hello MFPPals,

I have a small bone to pick with some of you. If you plan on entering food into the database, please understand how calories work.

1 gram of carbohydrates = 4 calories
1 gram of protein = 4 calories
1 gram of fat = 9 calories

Now, I understand that companies round these figures for nutrition labels, but there's no way nutrition for salmon can look like this:

2 oz filet
100 calories
26 grams of protein
4 grams of fat

This should be 140 calories or there abouts.

Thank you! :)

I wonder if a mod can go through the database and clean out all the ones that are crap. Then, when someone wants to submit, it can be reviewed. . . perhaps a little too much to ask for, but one can dream. . .
