Why Water?

I began drinking water today, and it is not even 5pm and I gained 6 pounds... I do not think that I am putting that on the ticker. What does water really do for you?

Do you mean you have gained 6 pounds just today? I don't think that is terriby unusual. If I weigh myself first thing in the morning, then again later the same day clothes and shoes on, and after eating breakfast and lunch and drinking water or tea or whatever, my weight is of course higher than it was that morning.0

here are a couple articles that are pretty interesting and explain some of the reasons why we NEED water. Your body weight naturally fluctuates throughout the day (2-5lbs!). Your body needs water for EVERYTHING! your body is mostly water! Water helps with digestion, cushioning joints, helps your immune system, and a BILLION other things!

Rest assured...its not fat (water has zero calories) ...Daily weight fluctuation is the likely cause0 -
I don't think drinking water is the issue here...if you really had that much is excess of what your body needed, you would have just peed.
6lbs is an unreasonable amount to gain in one day- unless you've eaten 2 Chipotle burritos! If the trend continues I might see someone about it.0 -

And yet we don't actually need to drink a drop of pure water to get those benefits! That's the beauty of our bodies, they get the "water" from so many sources!0 -

Your body is mostly water. Your heart is a pump which runs off of salt and water. You cannot live without either. That being said, 6 pounds, wow! Seems like some other process is in play.0
