How do you others that work overnights schedule your workout times. All the fun classes are in the evening when I'm working. How do you make it work?

I'm not on evenings or nights anymore, but I know the pain. It seems like the whole world revolves around day time hours....it sucks.

I used to work night many years ago, when I worked 3rd shift I would go in the morning for a walk or a bike ride. That was before I had children. The walks were a daily thing after I had children. During the time I worked 2nd shift I would go for walks before work. Now, that my kids are older it's so much harder with sports and homework but I now own a treadmill which makes my life easier, I send my boys who are only 10 and 7 upstairs to find something to occupy thier minds while I workout. I run a lot during my older son's soccer practice while my youngest rode his bike. I have learnt to be creative and have gone from just walking to running to cycling. When it comes to me cycling, it's Daddy time with his boys and I'm gone for the day. Hope this helps!!!

Hey I know what you mean it totally sucks LOL.... I work a 2 week rotation so its some days and night. But I have 2 types of classes that I go to that i way I can get to atleast 3 classes a week and then inbetween that I do cardio. I would much rather to classes all the time but I can't. Also a lot of the time you can find the certain class you are missing online and as long as you don't mind doing it at your home you can get a good workout going along with the video. Remember everything counts :)

Yes, things do revolve around the day shift M-F'ers. But perhaps you could research some DVDs. I know Netflix has some on there, you could rent to try, and if you like it, buy it.

On my first night shift, I work out before I lay down for my nap. On the next night I work out at the gym when I finish work. Yes I am dead tired, and have to really talk myself into going. As soon as I hit the elliptical I know I did the right this. Also I am wide awake for my drive home, instead of fighting to keep my eyes open. If I am working 3 nights, I work out after I wake from my last night.
