Wear one or two for tomorrow’s 5K race

I am running my second 5K tomorrow and have a question related to what to wear.
It was a little colder two days ago, but after about one minute of running I felt fine. I run in the city with tall buildings and I don’t feel any wind impact. Tomorrow’s race will be in an open area and the wind will be a factor to consider.
The label of my long-sleeve training tee says that it is a “mid layer – cold weather garment insulates without balk” and there is a drawing of another tee described as “base layer- next to skin layer wicks moisture and provides core warmth”. There is a plus sign between the two drawings.
Should I wear both of them tomorrow if it is as cold as today? I bought the base layer tee just in case.

I always layer, that way you can take layers off if need be. I start cold and end up hot at the end so being able to adjust during my workout it a plus.0

Probably a crazy question, but do you just strip while your running, and carry it or do you have a back pack thing you use,0

Yes I would wear the under T. I went running this AM and it was cold and windy and I just had a long sleeve dri-fit and I felt fine wasn't too cold but when I came home my skin was beat red and freezing. If you get hot you can take it off.0

Definitely layer. You shouldn't be hot when you start, maybe a little on the cool side, but not cold. Runners, do you agree?0

I'll stop just long enough to pull off the hoodie/long-sleeve shell and tie it around my waist. I've got it down pretty good to where it takes me a only a few seconds. I probably can do it while running but I'm clumsy and would probably face plant!0

Stay on the safe side and layer. Also have a sweatshirt to wear once you are finished.0

If you don't have someone to hold your sweatshirt for you, or if your car is a long way off to go to retrieve one, here's another idea:
You can also buy one of those silver (plastic?) emergency blankets that fold up to be palm-sized. I found some in the camping section at my local big box store. I think Coleman makes them. They hand these sorts of things out at the marathons.0 -
Many 5K's and other races will have a race volunteer drive the course after the run and pick up all of the articles of clothing dropped along the course, then you can get your extra layers at a designated place, usually after awards.
I would layer both of them to start, especially if you are like me and you have a hard time warming up after you are very cold to start with.0
