Too much sugar?

Hi, I'm new. My name is Sky.

To the point here. I noticed while logging most of my food for the day that i eat A LOT of sugar. About a third of those was from the hot cocoa i plan on having later today. But the rest were from fruit. Do you think i should eat less fruit since it's causing me to consume so much sugar? I don't know, i always thought you couldn't go wrong with fruit. I'm confused.

Perhaps i just need to avoid all other types of sugar? (anything that's not coming from fruit/veggies)

Well i really dont know. Enlighten me MFP friends please?

I noticed that too. My comes from Dannon light and fit yougurt. I eat plenty of fruit. It keeps me full and satisfies my sweet tooth. Though I still technically eat too much sugar, I think I am eating far less than I did in past years. Good luck to you!

I don't worry about fruit/vege sugars or sugars in sauces/condiments...it's the sugars in cakes, pies and beverages that I watch!

Fruit is not as bad as added sugar in cookies, so don't feel bad about eating fruit. It does trigger and equally high rise in insulin as refined sugar, but it's still better as fruit means you're getting a fair bit of fiber with the sugar.

I only watch the added sugar, too. And definitely the sugar in condiments and sauces, because that is the exact same sugar as you find in cake and pies.
