Who would like to commit to the Pound per Week Goal? Well, ME, for starters, and all others are welcome! I began this new phase of my journey on the auspicious-sounding date of 11-11-11; so I am all charged up!

Even if you choose to start on another date, any date can serve as "square one". By the way, this is not a contest or a competition, just a guideline. Everyone who doesn't give up WINS! (P.S. You get as many "Do-Overs" as you need to keep going.) This group is for encouragement and support. We are ONE!

Anyone interested, please post! Cheers!

I'm on a pound a week plan. Count me in! I made myself a chart showing for each Saturday weigh in where I need tobe (since Sept). So far, on track!

    Sure!
  • To hsk1019: AWESOME job so far! You are definitely "IN to WIN"! Cheers!
  • To cpotter4: You can pick any day you like. It's not a competition; it's for shared support, tips, encouragement, experiences, with the common goal of one pound loss per week. (Attainable AND Sustainable!) I pick Friday weigh-ins because I restarted on 11-11-11, but please feel free to jump in wherever you are and WELCOME!
  • To runiechica: You can use whichever method of tracking you prefer. I will report on my blog and in the weight progress area. I can also report here. So far I am down four lbs. (more, but I'm building in some "leeway" for Thanksgiving!)
  • To rmwinters: The main details are anyone can add me as a friend and I will accept. We can report our progress on our blogs (or here, if you like). Please share experiences, discoveries, tips, scale and "non-scale" victories, recipes, encouragement, support, etc. This is a very realistic and positive approach. Slow and steady means the pounds will most likely STAY off and we will make permanent lifestyle changes that will assure better health and success along the road to wellness.
  • To anwscott: Cheers backatcha from Carole in Boston!
  • To clrtaylor: You are so right! If we stay on track until "Turkey Day", we should be able to enjoy without deprivation or the need for atonement afterwards! 30 minutes of activity on most days and keeping our intake in line will assure a "No Guilt" Thanksgiving! We can do it!
  • To sllm1: Welcome! And to all: Welcome! Hope you stay with us, throughout the holiday season and into the New Year!

Sure! Provided you already have a ticker set up and you want it added to your board post signature, please try as follows:

    1) From your home page here on mfp, click on "Profile"

    2) Under "My Progress", click "Add to your site" (under your ticker graphic)

    3) Highlight all the HTML text in the box under (For forum signatures on most message boards)

    4) Right-click and select "Copy" (You can also go up to the Edit bar in your browser and select copy from the dropdown menu

    5) Under your current post (before saving), right-click and select "Paste" (You can also go up to the Edit on your browser's menu
bar and select Paste or simply hold down a "Ctrl" button and hit "v" on your keyboard.

    6) I believe the first time, you are asked whether you would like to add this to your signature whenever you post. Mine now appears automatically and I believe that is what happened the first time and I chose "Yes"

    7) Hit "Post Reply"; you should now see your ticker at the bottom of your post. Cheers!

    Welcome!
A-HA! NOW I remember! You go to My Home, then click on "Message Boards" at the left. You will then see:

    Message Boards » Settings

"Show your MyFitnessPal ticker below each of your forum posts" with a checkbox to the left of it. You would then check this box and click on "Save Changes" if you always want your ticker displayed after each of your message board posts. That's it!

If you need to know how to CREATE your ticker, then please refer to below:

"Where can I create a weight loss ticker?"

Click on the "Tools" tab, then click on the "Tickers" link in the light blue bar below the tabs. That will take you to the section of the site where you can create your ticker. There are options within this feature whereby you can choose the background, what you want to track (lbs. lost or lbs. to go and so on) and you can pick your little "traveler" (like the butterfly) and so on. You can either choose a premade ticker or you can create your own. You will see all that once you get in there. When you're done you save and BOOM! You have a ticker! THEN you can do the message boards/settings/add to posts thing (above).

Cheers and have FUN! I look forward to seeing your ticker!
  • HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!
  • Friday after Thanksgiving Weight Report:

Carole: 165.0 (Down 5.0 since 11-11-11) This week's loss: 1 lb. (reported). (Down 50 lbs. from highest recorded weight of 215 lbs.)
  • I'm still here and will keep this going as long as I can. I really do want to achieve this goal. I've had some temporary setbacks (Two surgeries and another coming up with hospitalization), but I am still watching my nutrition and monitoring my intake. Cheers to all!
