    I............LOOOVEEEEE.........HG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far, I've only made the Lasagna Cupcakes, they were so doggone delicious. A little bit time consuming with the layering, but it was SO worth it in the end!!!

Have you been to www.skinnytaste.com? She also has lower calorie recipes (along with calorie/ww points) but she uses all real ingredients. No artificial sweetener, cake mixes, etc. It is a great site, you should check it out. :flowerforyou:

    I love the egg muggs.

First put in whatever veggies in a microwaveable mug, i usually go with spinach and mushrooms. You microwave it for a minute and blot off the moisture
then add 1/2 cup of egg beaters and microwave for another minute
add other things like i will add veggie crumbles, ham and/or bonne bell light cheese wedges and microwave for one more minute

delicious and easy and you can put anything in there.

This recipe is around 150 calories

I do like her ideas, however, like another poster indicated she tends to use all kinds of low fat ingredients which for me is not a good option as they are generally much higher in sugar and sodium. Those are more harmful to ME than a little bit of fat. She has a show on the FoodNetwork now....or is it the Cooking channel. I can never remember who is on what channel as some of them are on both. Oh my, so many choices!!

I agree with this. HG recipes are low calorie, but there sure are a lot of processed ingredients. Most of the recipes on skinny taste are just as easy and more nutritious.

I've seen alot of people talk about her using processed foods and such as well, I think like any recipe the idea is that it's a base to work from and you can tweak what you use to suit your ideals and dietary requirements. The thing I like about her recipes is they are family friendly, with ingredients (or variants) that are easily accessable.

You have a good point, and I agree about them being a great starting point. I have actually made one of her recipes before (pizzafied chicken) and it was very good.
  • her swappachinos are yummy :) my favorite is the mocha coconut one

I love both Hungry Girl and Skinnytaste. The way i look at it is, if i'm craving "junk food" that i used to eat, Hungry Girl usually has a mock recipe that satisfies that urge. I don't use her recipes all of the time because i do feel they are so heavy on the process/low fat, etc. foods. But she sure as heck gets the flavors and can satisfy that craving for pizza, nachos, wings, you name it with way less guilt.

Skinnytaste is fabulous. Her recipes are downright home cooking delicious. That site is becoming my go to. Her chicken sofrito was the first i'd tried and did it for company with her cilantro rice. Soooo delicious! So i think it's a good resource for everyday cooking and comfort food that is healthy.

I saw this show for the first time today and I think I'm hooked. Some of the tricks I already knew, but a lot of them were great ideas. I'll be looking into getting a cookbook or two.
