what is bump or bumping in regards to a topic??

    Hi Yager...

    I could be completely wrong but I have always taken it as someone wanting the topic to be saved in "my topics" so they bump it so they can refer back to it later.

    bump is the comment that u type on a post to move it to the top of the other post so others can see it. sounds confusing? i don't know how else to explain it :smile:

    I think they do that to move a post to the top of the Recent Posts list.

    Any post on a topic moves it the top of the list due to it having the most recent post.
    Instead of a random word, the term bump arose.

    Self bumping is terribly uncooth
