They called me WHAT?!!! (NSV)

Yesterday I went on my first hike in the Dublin Mountains with my housemate and 3 of her friends....
Brief History on Me: Oldest of 4. Overweight since the age of 5. Spoiled with food and sweets. Never participated in sports or even P.E. in school because I would be out of breath instantly and this was embarrassing in front of all my friends. I was obese in school. For my brothers christening, my mom had to take me to clothes shop for middle aged women because I couldn't find any other clothes to fit me - I was 14 years old. I NEVER exercised after the age of 15. I comfort eat all the time. My highest weight was around 230-240lbs. Today I weigh 148lbs...
In this 2hr hike up a mountain, I was walking next to my housemates friends who were tall and slim and had the bodies that I want! Before the hike I felt like the 'fat girl' in P.E. class all over again and I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up with any of them.
10 minutes into the hike, I find myself leading the pack and Im not even out of breath. I was in my own 'zone' and I just kept walking away at a quick pace and I felt that I was really pushing myself and getting a good burn and I didn't want to stop! I really enjoyed it!
Next thing I know, Im at the top of the mountain and Im not even tired or that much out of breath and I turn around and all the girls are only half way up and they are shouting up to me "Wait for us!" They stopped half way up to catch their breath and drink some water. When they eventually reached the top they came up to me and said 'How fit are you?! We couldn't keep up'.
They were panting so loud that I thought one of them was going to pass out. I was stunned by what they said to me and I didn't know how to reply. They were calling ME fit???!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! Ive never heard such nonsense!!! And they were all skinny girls who appeared to be the picture of fitness and health to me when we were at the bottom of the mountain and here I am waiting for them at the top and Im not even tired! I don't know how this has happened but I know for definite I have changed 200% from the girl I was in school. I don't know who she is and I don't want to know her in the future!
I literally felt on top of the world when I reached the top of that mountain yesterday and hearing those girls referring to me as 'fit' was the icing on the cake. It was the most amazing feeling Ive ever experienced. And its only when you know how unhealthy my childhood was that you will understand why this was such a milestone NSV for me
Thank you for helping me get here MFP! :flowerforyou:
