Does your bone structure change when you lose weight?

Right now my hips are 36 inches where they're widest (at butt level I guess...) and I can feel those bones and I was wondering if I lose weight will my hip bone structure get smaller. Or does bone structure remain unchanged no matter what you lose?

Bone structure remains the same, your body fat can decrease and therefore your waist and hip measurements will decrease.

As far as I know, it does not. While you may be able to feel your bones on the sides, you still have your skin layer and fat layer. You are also measuring around your butt and your tummy so losing weight there and the number will go down.0

No it will definitely not change.0

Bones take decades to change, if ever.0

You can make changes to the layers of soft tissue (fat and muscle) that covers your hips but the actual size of your bones isn't going to change. Pregnancy/childbearing can cause some changes in size/shape due to the ligaments and connective tissue softening, but the bad news is that they aren't going to get smaller!0
