What are your goal calories? If your exercise and intake of calories match your goals, you should lose.

Depends on who "you" is. Some people can.

Depends on whether you're male or female, your size, etc. Some people can. Many can't. I'd weigh 500 or more if I ate that much.

Sure, only your deficit matters, not your intake

Some days I eat up to 5000 calories and while I haven't lost weight for years I continue to lose body fat. To me that is more important than a silly number on a scale

Why not? You can lose eating 5000 calories a day if you burn more than that.

Yes I have- I can easily eat over 2000 if I have exercised. If you eat 2000 and burn off 600 you still have a defecit and still lose weight.

Yes I still lose and I eat around that amount. I do activity everyday, whether it is running, cycling, gym or even just walking. I'm working on around a 500 cal deficit every day x

I think the key to this is in the definition of "very active". You'd probably need to burn 500cal per day through exercise

Yes. I maintain on around 2300 and that's before any exercise. My daily life (not including workouts) includes around 1 and a half hours walking, about 5 x a week. I'm 5'8, 21 years and 145lbs.
