A bit confused

Okay I have only been logging my food on here for 6 days. I have been eating like this for 2 weeks now. I'm struggling to get to 1200 calories. I usually end with 1000-1100. I went from eating twice this to what I'm at now (the 1000-1100). My first problem is do I NEED to get up to 1200? The second question is probably one you've all heard before....why am I not losing anything? I've lost one pound. I exercise atleast every other day. I either walk outside, or ride the recumbent. Either way it's an average of 200-300 calories (per MFP). So what am I doing wrong. I'm not going over on calories or fat or anything...so I'm unsure of whats going on here!!

    No, I didn't gain it in 2 weeks. I know I could gain more than that in a week with a terrible diet.I'm just curious.

    Cherry your body has to get in the swing of things, continue what your are doing and hang in there, you are likely going to notice other things before you notice weight. Things such as, less aches and pains, better rest at night, clearer skin and healthier hair......then the weight will come. Be patient. Dave makes a good point, it didn't all get there in 2 weeks, it won't all go way in 2 weeks.

    Give it a month. Then, if it's still a problem, up your calories with a yummy treat, milk, a smoothie, peanut butter, anything that's high-calorie and not a chore to consume. It's like a radio - fiddle with tuning and eventually you'll hit on the right station.

    I agreed with the other posts but you may also want to think about getting in the right amount of calories for you. If you are working out and on those days are still eating 1100 calories then you body may think that its not receiving enough Alot of people say you have to eat you burned calories because you are already eating at a deficit and if you burn even more your body may not want to let go of anything.     Good point, I was at 1200 and lost alot at once and then have had to adjust cals. I now eat 1500 whether I workout or not and only eat more if I am hungry....I now know the difference in hungry and pangs.......good point

    if your physically able i think you shoudl try to excercise 6 days a week for 60minutes...and get those calories up to 1200-1400 quality food

    Do a really good inventory of what you're eating and be sure that what you eat is sufficiently nutritious to take care of your body.

    Consider also upping your workouts to increase the calories burned a little more each day.

    And remember, things take time.

    If you have 80 lbs to lose, I would suggest that even 1200 isn't enough. You should probably be up at 1400 to 1500 and eating back some of your exercise calories. Maybe give that a try for awhile and see what happens. Or stick with your current plan for another 2 weeks and see if something changes, then decide if you need to tweak it or not. Some bodies need longer to adjust to a radical change. I still think you are undereating though. Just my $.02.

    I appreciate all the advice. I have tried to make sure that the calories I'm eating are healthy calories and not junk. I'll trying up the cals and exercise. I only got a 20 minute walk in today with my little one in his wagon, so I went and took another 15 before the sunset. Thanks again all! I'll be sure to make some adjustments!

    Another thing you need to consider is the matter of drinking water. 8 to 10 glasses a day is the suggested amount for losing weight. I have found that it really does help me...Hang in there, you will start seeing results.
