I just finished watching Cheers. It's 20 years old but a classic.

American: Frasier, 30 Rock, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Cheers
British: Father Ted, Black Books, The IT Crowd, Blackadder (series 2 - 4 only... interesting if you haven't seen it before as it contains very young pair in Rowan Atkinson (MR Bean) and Hugh Laurie (That guy from House), 15 Stories High, Bottom, The Young Ones, Peep Show, Spaced, Red Dwarf

As rule of thumb British Sitcoms tend to be less reliant on punchlines & wise cracks which I consider a very good thing, especially when it comes to a good sitcom (at least to have any replay value) and the Amerrican ones I've listed a very British like (bar Cheers) in delivery so it might not be exactly what you'd expect of a sitcom as you know it... but I suggest trying out a few British ones especially Blackadder, Peep Show, Father Ted & Spaced

The one I have gotten into over the last year is Two and a Half men. Extremely funny show.

Now these arent really sitcoms, but they are good comedies to check out too:

    -the office
    -Community
    -scrubs
-Psych - This is a crime show about a guy who pretends to be a psychic, really really funny

Reba, Wings, Fraiser are some of the funnier ones I have watched
  • Malcom in the Middle, Reba, and I agree, Fraiser. You can watch them online at hulu.com. You dont even have to download them and they are free.
