My Body Image

Before I started losing weight, I didn't feel bad when I looked in the mirror. I wasn't happy with the number on the scale, and although I could look in the mirror and see that I needed to lose weight, I thought my body looked nice. Now, I seem to pick on imperfections a lot more easily and I'm not as happy with my body as I was when I was a bit heavier. NOT THAT I WANT TO GAIN THE WEIGHT BACK! I thought that maybe it's because my body isn't as proportional anymore. I've lost more weight in my legs and arms than in my mid section. Does anyone else have these feelings?

Yeah. I understand completely! As my body has changed, it has sometimes been "weird" to me. If it helps, it doesn't seem to have looked weird to other people. I think we look at ourselves with a more critical eye sometimes. But I hear ya! Eventually the loss will even out more, at least is has for me in the past and I'm counting on it again. Interesting changes we note on the way down - didn't seem to notice the same thing on the way up! I probably wasn't looking at all though

Yes:grumble: But then I think about all the goods things that I'm doing for myself by eating right and exercising. Then I put on the clothes that didn't ft 2 months ago and feel much better. You're doing great! Don't discount that.:flowerforyou:

That's how I am with calories sometimes. I find that knowing that I have 100 left makes me say "hmm what should I eat" where as in the past I wouldn't have even thought about it because I'm not particularly hungry. Somehow knowing I'm "allowed" to have 100 more makes me want them, hungry or not! :grumble:
