If it sounds too good to be true...

It probably is. I just got back from the grocery store. While there, I took a little detour through the bakery section, and I saw the cutest, tiniest mini carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. I picked them up to look at the nutritional information, and was surprised to see that three of the mini cupcakes were only 140 calories! My husband LOVES carrot cake, but hasn't had it in a while because it's so high in calories (he's on this site with me). But these weren't too bad. So I put the package in the cart and brought them home as a surprise :flowerforyou: .

But then reality set in, and as I was entering them in to the MFP food database, I noticed that the 140 calories I saw was actually the calories just from FAT! They're really 290 calories for the three of them  The label was in small print and on the bottom of the package... I didn't see the truth until I took the label off the bottom and put it on the top so I could read it better. Maybe I should get in the habit of wearing my glasses to the store?

Luckily, my husband has spent the entire day outside doing yard work, so he's got enough room for his special treat. Bummer for me I only have room for one little one. I suppose I could hop on the elliptical for a half hour to make room, but I think I'll see how good they are first

  • ^I"ve had shockers like that too. Don't worry..if you only eat one each day and burn the calories off, it's not so bad. That's what I've learned to do if what I ate contained more fat than I thought.
