Dont Give Up

I must not give up. I must stay strong and continue to exercise and maintain calorie intake. Its actually is beginning to not be so hard to do, however, it seems it is getting a little boring. I try to work out daily because it has now become a habit. It just doesnt seem fun anymore. I dont know what to do in order to make it become fun rather than habit. I have updated my goals and they have become a little more challenging. I have to stay focused and find a way to make this journey exciting. I will also be eating salad M-F except for Wednesdays. Wednesdays will be a free day for me. On those days I will still monitor calories and exercise but I will be eating whatever I want and when I want.

I need more motivation. I need more encouragement and support. I want to have fun while shedding pounds. THis should be a fun experience/task

Not sure how much weight you are trying to lose or what your goals are on here but you look great! I have a friend who does a lot of outdoor stuff and mixes it up like that. It can definitely get boring though. And I admire your commitment to salads! I need to do the same :)

Exercising is always better with a friend - do you have anyone you can join in with?
I do it on my own too. I'm trying to build myself up for around 10 mile walks as there are 2 local walking groups but they regularly do 8 to 10 miles.... I have done 3.5 so still a LONG way to go.

Try to vary your exercises too
When I'm able I can walk, do wii-fit, dance dvd's zumba dvd, etc.....

    Good Luck

@saralisab This committment to salad will be a very new committment for me. I actually am just starting to like salad as of a few weeks ago. A lot of my friends tell me I do not need to lose anything however, I feel the need to exercise and maintain calories because in the past I used to eat without gaining weight so I am sure that I am not in a healthy condition. I know a lot of people may think because they are slim they are healthy when really some times that is not the case. I overall would just like to be slim and healthy at the same time.

@Deediddly I have others to workout with at different times. But some times they arent available the same hours as I. I find myself wanting to just get up in the middle of the night and just go for a nice jog but when reality settles in, I find that to not be safe to do alone at night. Then I began to become anxious and not be able to sleep because I want to jog

Have you tried mixing up your exercise with maybe some DVD's at home? (or if you have digital cable/satellite, your provider might have an exercise On Demand channel where you can access a variety of workouts) Maybe changing it up and doing like some dance-based workouts or something different than usual like yoga or something would help make workouts fun again. And doing TV workouts or buying a couple of different DVDs would be cheaper than joining a gym for classes. Plus then you have some options for the 'middle of the night' when you want to move but also want to be safe. It's easy to get in a rut with exercise, just like a lot of things in life.

Humm I do have On Demand. I do not own any DVD's though. The only thing is, I live upstairs and I am afraid if I work out to heavily, my neighbors may have a problem with it. Last night was actually the first time i worked out in my living room and was nervous I was making too much noise. I still did like 10 mins of some cardio. I will search for some on demand work outs and see if anything fun and interesting pops up. Thanks for that.

Hmmm, maybe some strength training stuff that doesn't require moving around too much? You could do cardio stuff maybe during the day when the downstairs neighbors would hopefully be awake or out of the house. Maybe your midnight fix could be strength training or something low-impact like yoga or bellydancing.... I know Time Warner has the Exercise On Demand channel (might actually be called Sports and Fitness On Demand, but there's an exercise section once you tune to the channel) - in my area it's like 548 or something like that. I'm sure other areas and other providers are different. But it's nice to be able to get a little variety and find something new. :-)

Thank you. Ive just looked on my On Demand in the sports section via website and hadnt seen anything. I am going to wait until I get home to actually look on the tv and see if I see anything. Thank you so much. I will try the belly dancing at home at night. I actually did that in the car this morning on the way to work

I know it can get pretty boring working out on a daily basis at home, however a membership at the local gym changed everything for me. You can plug your headphones into the units to watch TV and just getting out of the house and interacting with other people has really helped me a lot..I do it every day and just for 32 to 35 minutes daily of high cardio and I can tell you that it works!!! You actually begin to look forward to working out!!! and logging your sucess into MFP...
