When you cook the bacon, a fair amount of fat is left in the pan. In calculating the calories of bacon, are you actually under-estimating the calories by discarding the fat?
I usually cook my eggs in the fat afterwards. Adds flavor...and fat.

I have been eating the Turkey bacon ( I truley dislike most 'DIET' foods) but it you haven't tried it yet, you are really missing out! Low in calories, no carbs, and low fat. Stay away from the Jenny-O sausage you may as well eat a candy bar.0

Most bacon packages give the calories for a serving of "pan-fried slices", which assumes you leave the fat in the pan. Weigh the bacon after you cook it and go by the weight. And be sure to blot with paper towels before you weigh it (and before you eat it!)0

not a fan of turkey bacon though xD very processed... real stuff is too good to give up0

Believe it or not, the Center Cut bacon is actually better for you in terms of calories, fat, and sodium content than the turkey bacon. Turkey bacon is only better than the regular fatty bacon you can buy.0 -

Here's my random thought about bacon: I FKING LOVE IT.
Bacon.. Ah, bacon.0 -
The label on mine lists nutrition info for pan-fried bacon. The nutrition in bacon will vary greatly cooked or not, so it's an average.0

Good point to weight it afterwards. I'll do that just to cure my curiosity now. I find it more difficult to get fat in my diet so I don't mind the excess fat from bacon or other ground meats. Jenni-O turkey turns me off, it reminds me of paste.
I'm having pumpkin pancakes, bacon and eggs tonight Time to go fire up the skillet.0 -

No, you're not underestimating. A slice of bacon, cooked is about 70 calories. It doesn't count the grease because that is waste. It's like counting a banana peel in the calories of a banana.
Unless you fry eggs in it... the grease I mean. It's a perfectly acceptable thing to do imo.0 -

MONEY CAN'T BY HAPPINESS...BUT IT CAN BUY BACON AND THAT'S PRETTY CLOSE!0 -
op- if you use the fat in the pan then you should log it as raw bacon.. on every package of bacon I have ever bought it had the calorie counts for "pan fried" that means it does not include the grease left in the pan..
turkey bacon is silly in my opinion.. it is super processed, about the same amount of cals and not near as yummy..
bacon is amazing..the end0
