33 year old male here
210-215 is the heaviest I have ever been sometime around the end of this past winter.
beginning of summer I started to think about doing something about it. Maybe in June?
a month went by maybe and I started being a bit more active, did some traveling and camping and hiking...some walking, jogging, pushups, situps, jumping jacks, LOADS of cycling and more.... watching what I ate...
September 1st I got a scale and was down to 199. This felt so great, but I was still so dissappointed that I was basically still 200 pounds.
I am only 5'9" and stocky but the top of my ideal weight is more like 168 or something.
I pushed myself to Cycle more, strength train more, told everyone I knew what I was doing, and really just tried to focus on losing weight and getting stronger, feeling better.
The most important thing I realized was I needed to watch what I ate ... I didn't even know what this meant but the weight was slowly coming off.
Then I hit a stall. I hovered around 194 for a bit, I think maybe gaining muscle and not really losing much fat. Then I came on MyFitnessPal and read up on a lot of stuff and was surprised to think that maybe I wasn't eating enough and my body was in storage mode?
Anyways, September 17th I set up an account on this website and started keeping track of my exercise and food, with a plan to agressively be losing 2 pounds a week.
Today the scale read 185.8
about 4 years ago this is what I weighed. My driver's license still says 185.
i went from a size 36 pants to a size 32.
from a large and xL shirt to a medium.
I plan to bust my *kitten* and lose 15-20 more pounds. And more importantly I want to get stronger and feel better about myself.
thanks for reading and keep on it. if you have trouble eating less calories, just exercise more. walk or bike to get dinner
or go to work, or meet a friend. I used to drive everywhere... even 1 mile away to get a cup of coffee.

Good thing you started at 215. I started wanting to lose weight at 212, but didn't get my butt in gear until 235. Now I'm at 217 and my goal is 185.0

the more fit I become, the better I feel0

so I made the mistake of weighing myself everyday for awhile and it either stayed the same or went up every day
fluctuations, I know
today I weighed myself and the scale read 180.4
really excited it went down again.
I am definitely building muscle and eating my calories, which was making me wonder if my weight was going to plateau for a bit.
anyways, that means that since september 1st my weight has changed from 200 to 180.4. and I feel great.0 -
Great job man0

175.8 today and feeling great
Slowed down for a second there and did not really lose anything for almost 2 weeks.
I had corrective eye surgery and could not really exercise much. Also I think I splurged a bit around Halloween.
Now it feels like it is coming off again.0 -
Congrats man and stay on it!!! I was at 289 and I have now lost almost 50lbs and losing about 2 pounds per week by following the MFP..There are weeks when with all the work you do it does not seem to be working from a weight perspective (don't weigh yourself every day) but its not all about the weight loss showing on the scale, its also about the inches lost... Stay on it no matter how difficult or boring it gets!!!........I am down from a 46 waist pant to a 35 waist since May..Watch the calories and stay on it and you will get it done!!!0

good job!
november has kind of stalled for me
i went down to 174
then back up to 177-178 and now am back down around 175
I think I did good not gaining weight over the week of thanksgiving but this month is not going to stack up to the other months where I was losing 8-10 pounds.
I have gone over on my eating a bunch but still mostly within my maintenance calories
I still have an average of 2 pounds a week lost since September 1st 2011.0 -
great job! i just started using MFP and we have close starting weights. Friend me if you like.0
