Try panfrying it in a non-stick pan with a little bit of spray oil.
This way it doesn't go "soft" like steamed fish does and the natural oils in the fish tend to mean that it browns up a bit on the outside.
Of course, it's not going to be like deep fried "fish and chip" fish but it's yummy this way.0 -
do i put breading on it, or not??0

We eat salmon steaks, sprinkled with Montreal Steak Pepper and then cooked on the grill/griddle/frying pan. It taste great this way and no extra oil or breading.0

Better not to - the breading is pretty much just empty calories really. But if you like it, you can, just account for the cals. If you are going to do this, then spray the fish before you cook it, instead of spraying the pan. In fact this is probably better anyway.
Eating it without is going to be different if you are used to having it always battered/breaded but it's delicious!
You can sprinkle a few herbs or spices on it if you want more flavour - ground paprika, oregano, sumac, cummin all come to mind (not all together though, just pick one).0
