This is probably a stupid question but I am learning!!! The elliptical only measures distance in revolutions. How do you figure out the actual distance? Can you figure it out based on stride length and number of revolutions?

Thanks for any help. Not sure why this is bothering me so much!

Usually it tells you in the manual. If you don't have the manual, you can look it up on line. You also need to figure out what you have your stride set at.

The only manual it came with was the instructions to put it together. It is a cheap golds gym model from walmart. I tried to look it up online without success. I will keep trying.

    Thanks!!!

Here's a little in depth but might work for you.

First, how big is the wheel for the rotation? IFor example if the wheels radius is a foot , then the circumference of the wheel is 2 x pi. There's 5280 feet in a mile. Therefore, (2 x pi) x n = 5280, where n is the number of rotations. Then n is approximately equal to 840 in this case. That would be 840 rotations a mile.

    Hope this helps

I believe the radius is a foot, so that makes sense. Thanks so much!!
