Hi guys!
so basically i'm 17, 5"2 and at the beginning of summer weighed 160lb, but through portion control, eating healthier etc i have reduced that to 148lb (in 4 months with no exercise)
however recently decided that i really wanted to speed up my weight loss so added exercise. i have crappy endurance, so at first only went on the elliptical for 15 mins (140 cals) however after 2 or 3 weeks of doing it almost every day, i have worked it up to 40 mins ish (350 cals)
my diet in general is okay, i dont eat too much junk and always have 1200 then eat back some of my burned calories. i do allow myself something like 2 after eights a day, or a few squares of chocolate because i know if i don't, i binge and have the whole bar. i drink 2L of water a day too

BUT despite all my efforts, in 3 weeks i have lost no weight, no inches, nothing. i have actually gained 0.8 of a lb :(
i just feel really discouraged and don't know what i'm doing wrong?!
surely i'm not doing enough exercise to really gain muscle.. so why am i gaining weight?

if anyone can help i would appreciate it so much!!

Could you open your diary so we can see what you are actually eating? It could be from a whole host of reasons but without knowing your diet it is pretty hard to decipher.

You may also need to try a different exercise. You may be over or even underestimating what you are doing. I recently increased my eating as I was not losing any weight and I lost 4 pounds.

    Hi there,

Sometimes its very frustrating when you think you are working hard and doing well and don't see any results. I'm not saying that I am an expert in any shape or form but I find myself that if I don't eat enough I can actually put on weight. If I exercise well and eat back most of my exercise calories then I tend to see some sort of loss. But do remember, everyone is different and what works for one might not be as effective for others. Keep it up and maybe find another type of exercise that you can also enjoy. I walk every day for 30mins which I do not particularly like but I also play squash 3-4 times a week and really look forward to this. Keep it up and it will pay off!
