  • If they weigh 100 grams, then they are 144 calories.

Yes, the way it is written means when it is baked. I would think it would be the same whether it was baked or boiled or raw - they probably specify "oven-baked" as opposed to, say, fried in oil.
  • Yep it means cooked with no oil or butter or anything like that, so oven baked or boiled would have the same nutrional value but if you cook in oil you would have to add on what ever amount of oil you use

By the way, are these just plain potatoes or have they been prepared in some way? Every entry I can find for plain potatoes is around 90 calories for 100 grams.

They lose water when cooked- baked so weigh less so the calories get more concentrated hence the 144kCal Elizabeth... raw uncooked they'll be around the 90kCal mark... hope that helps... I do all my food from raw in terms of weight!

Oh I see what you mean. I was still thinking it meant "if you bake this 100-gram raw potato it will have 144 calories".
  • thank you all for the response.

promise i won't ask blonde questions again :blushing:

ElizabethRoad: yes they are just plain baked potatoes
