If often think this, but it sounds so stupid.
If I lay down, with weights on my stomach and just breathed normally would it help tone me?
Surely your stomach will have to use extra energy to lift the weights, so...

I think you have to exert some effort to get any results. Just a thought.0

That's a new one to me. I personally have never heard of that type of method and don't really see how it could be beneficial but if someone has input I'd like to hear your thoughts as well!0

My weights aren't heavy enough for normal crunches, so I'm not sure.0 -
However, I HAVE heard of plank position with weight put on your back to help strengthen the core!0

no - toning your midsection comes from within - doing exercises to strengthen your core - you have a variety of abdominal muscles and you have to exercise all of them - by doing that you will strengthen those muscles - that combined with a fairly clean eating diet should allow for the core to strengthen and burn fat deposits in the midsection0

Could be one of two ways. There are Ab crunch machines that allow you to add weight resistance as you do the crunches. Or, I've seen some people hold free weights or medicine balls to their chests while doing crunches.0
