Psyllium Husk

Ok, so I have a container of the pills at home and they've been sitting on my desk for about 3 months now lol, I'm tempted to try them but I'm really nervous because of the side effects I've read... bloating, not being able to breathe...etc. That really worries me and I don't want to get bloated. I know they're supposed to be really good for your body though, so I was wondering does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!! =]

it's just bulk fiber. if you drink enough water you won't have issues really0

When you take them be sure to drink at least 8 ounces of water. You might experience some flatulence when you first start taking them but it goes away as your body adjusts. They are easier to take than Metamucil powder. They are a beneficial way of getting more fiber in your diet and can even lower cholesterol.0

I took Mrtamucil for years but then it started scaring the **** out of me.
Eat two apples a day, boom, you're fine.0 -

I did! Lol. *clears throat* I had issues. More fiber!! Must have more fiber!
(I drank about 1.5-2 gallons of water throughout my day, every day)0 -
I occasionally take Metamucil powder with about two glasses of water and have never had any issues. My doctor recommended I take it every day to allow.. ahem... smooth sailing? Now I just take it occasionally, but for a while I was taking it almost every day and didn't have any negative side effects.
Just make sure you drink at least one full glass (two cups) of water WITH IT, but more is better.0 -
I take psyllium once in a while in water (not pills, actual husk). I like it. Definitely drink lots of water. You should also, as I have learned, start slowly! I suggest taking it every other day to get started. Your body will tell you if it wants more or if it wants less. Like Joe above, sounds like your body wanted less :-O0

Psyllium is the main ingredient in Metamucil......and yes, it's safe to take. My doc recommended it a few years ago, and I mix it with my morning juice plus added water every day.
s'all good!0
