Apparently there is such a thing. I was watching The Doctors today that discussed this noodle briefly. I haven't tried it yet but plan on it this weekend!

Shirataki noodles mostly consumed in Asia and are made from a soluble plant fiber.

They have ZERO calories, fat, and ... zero net CARBS

They are wheat and gluten free.

You don't need to cook them .. just heat and serve.

And finally the fiber that they are made of also helps reduce the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream.

A news story about it from 2008.

They're really good :D Don't have the texture of noodles, I actually like them better! They're fantastic in stir-fry.

You can find them at most healthfood/whole food stores. They're in the refrigerator section. I have made chicken noodle soup with them, used them in place of pasta in spaghetti. I believe they are made of a tofu like product. They can smell "fishy" so I rinse them first.

    ENJOY!!

They are NOT really good!!!!! They smell funny and have a bit of a chewy consistency. They're a good vehicle for getting a thick sauce into your mouth. I've got six bags in my pantry taking up space. Anyone want them?? Pay for shipping and they're yours.

In my opinion they are disgusting. The texture is really weird. Spaghetti might be okay but don't get the fettuccine, it's awful.

I agree that the fettuccine was NOT good. The spaghetti is way better. I like to cut it up also. Its NOT the same as regular pasta, but if you go into it trying it as something different, you might just like it. I do, but again, it is NOT regular pasta tasting!

Yes. Rinse. Rinse. and repeat. The smell is hard to get over if you don't rinse well first. If you go into it knowing it won't really be like real pasta... and keep an open mind, you might like them. They take on the flavor of whatever you use, good for stir-fry. I am not a picky eater at all and usually I'm not weird about textures, but I think they have a gelatinous and cartilage type texture and I just can't get over that. but I so WANTED to like them...

I have never tried them, but if they smell fishy or strange, I'd rather just eat less "regular" noodles instead of experimenting with something like that.

I buy the shirataki noodles made from tofu. They have them at my local Giant Eagle grocery store. They have 40 cals in the whole bag. They do have a strange texture but I heat up some ground turkey and throw some spaghetti sauce in and fry up the noodles in a separate pan, but yes rinse them very well in cold water first. I prefer real noodles of course but if you need to save on the calories this is a great way.
