Does anyone do this, lose x amount of pounds and have a reward. Day at the spa, a shopping spree, anything like that?

  • No. The number on the scale and the feeling of accomplishment is enough for me. And besides, there is no greater award than good health! Every moment you live healthily, you are rewarding yourself. I don't need material goods as a source of motivation. But, to be honest, I can't wait to fit into my old clothes.
  • Oh yeah, for every 5 lbs I lose until my weight goal I have a little "prize" like a new purse, new pair of shoes and a new outfit :)

I do, but I tend to make them workout related. One time I bought myself bluetooth earphones because I got tired of yanking my earbuds out when I was running. New workout clothes because I end up drowning in them, that kind of thing.

I haven't yet, but I've been thinking about it... like get a massage, facial, or something like that.

I Like the idea of work out related rewards. I guess obviously if you lose enough you will have to buy new clothes. I think I'd like to set mini goals and just celebrate my hard work.

My big goal was to lose 100 pounds by my 30th birthday - next April -- I'm at 90.4 pounds down -- WOOT!

When I hit 40 pounds, I got a new tattoo I had wanted for a while.

When I hit 80, I was going to get another new tatt - but that went on the back burner - and I got myself a couple new tops, and a pair of jeans (size 14 baby - smaller than in highschool!)

I think it's great to reward yourself -- but not with food. Get a mani/pedi, a new pair of gym shoes, or a new gym outfit... a new book if you like to read - a new yankee candle -- whatever floats your boat. My motivation is how good I feel from working out and eating right - but there's nothing wrong with rewarding your hard work.
