Can anyone tell me pros and cons of each? I eat a lot of Wholearth no added sugar peanut butter but have seen many people have almond butter instead.

I think it is really a matter of taste. What do you enjoy eating?0

Dr. Mehmet Oz, the cardio-thoracic (heart) surgeon, highly recommends NUTTZO. It's a great blend of multiple seeds and nuts that have a high level of anti-oxidants (he uses a little of it every day). To find out what stores carry it in your area go to: www.nuttzo.com. I can't buy it in Washington State but there are many stores in other areas that do. Good luck.0

I think almond butter has healthier fats than pb, but both are still good. I love almond butter, but do sprinkle a little sea salt on it. Great on a brown rice cake.0

I need to try it really! I bloody love that Wholearth stuff!0

I eat Organic peanut butter.

Taste wise, I prefer almond butter hands down to peanut butter0

Almonds are very good for you. They provide protein, calcium, essential nutrients, vitamin E, magnesium, and more!
Peanuts, however, are not even a nut--they're a legume, and hard to digest.
Obviously, I'm pro-almond butter. If health is an important factor in your decision, choose almond butter.0 -
Found this online
2 tbsp. peanut butter 2 tbsp. almond butter
Calories 190 / 190
Total Fat (g) 16 / 16
Saturated Fat (g) 2 / 1.5
Carbs (g) 7 / 6
Fiber (g) 3 / 4
Protein (g) 8 / 7
Calcium 1%/ 8%
Iron 3%/ 6%
Vitamin E 14% / 40%
Folate 6% / 6%
Nutrition-wise, it looks like almond butter offers a bit more, especially in terms of vitamin E.
Not much different tbh il stick to my natural pb0 -
Im in the uk and usually buy Earth Natural peanut butter. I bought almond butter (from Holland & Barrett) and enjoyed it. Not sure which I prefer though. They had hazelnut too - so might try that next.
I now have a peanut butter from Holland & Barratt - Meridale? (cant quite rmember the name), basically 100% peanuts.
The diff im finding is that both from holland and barratt have alot of separation so it needs a good mix before you use it. (dont have this with earth natural PB).
Sorry not much help really x0 -

Also the extra vitamin E helps protect the fats against oxidation, which is extremely important. Almond butter also has a better fat profile. Almonds have more monounsaturated fat and less omega 6, which is a good thing.0 -
I use PB2, which is defatted peanut flour that you reconstitute into a paste with water. It's great.0

F.Y.I. You can easily make your own almond butter in a food processor and make it really healthy by adding olive oil.0

I'm allergic to peanuts, so I only use peanutbutter alternatives. Almond butter is good, but my FAVORITE is Sunbutter-- Made from sunflower seeds! Super tasty! :bigsmile:0

allrecipes.com has a 4 star recipe for almond butter. 1 Cup of toasted almonds and 2 tsp of olive oil. I don't usually toast mine but will put them in the fry pan for a few minutes this time.0

The main difference between almond butter and peant butter is that a peanut is not actually a nut, its a legume (like beans).0
