I know this will be long but I need to be honest. I am also asking for a good kick in the butt so be honest Im hoping it helps!!!
I am realy good to drink half my body weight in water everyday. During the week I am awesome at stayin with in my calories (I am 5.4 tall, 190lbs, 1250 cal). I walk for at least 15 min everyday at work and at least threee times a week (usualy more) I do one of the 30 day shred video's. I do not watch my calories on the weekend and I know I go over (i know this is an issue)! 2 weeks ago I started the couch to 5k I was getting up in the morning and running on pavment. Last week however I started feeling realy tired, to the point that I am barely getting out of bed on time for work. I am not sure whats going on. Heres the realy part and for you men it is realy personaly. I started the depo back in Dec. as of feb 20 i have been spotting daily,it got worse so I went to the doc and they said it was the shot and mixture of excersize and changes I have made. I am not sure what I can do to get the energy back. Iv always been a morning person and its realy effecting me that I cant wake up. I dont take any vitamins and im not sure if they would help. I am realy good at eating my fruits and veggies. Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated I am getting a bit discouraged and I know its my own fault. If you see that I am not doing something right please tell me. As for my weekend habits if you have suggestions on how I can break my cycle of bad habits I need them. I am on a mission to be heathly I wont give up but need your help. Thanks in advance!!!

I am really sorry I don't want to write this but I got chills when I got to the part of you taking the Depo shot!!!! I don't know if you have ever taken that before but I did 4 years ago and let me tell you it was a nightmare. I took it on the first day of my period at my doctors and it stopped my period for maybe all of 3 days, I started to spot and well I bled for the 3 straight months. I went on forum boards about the shot and I was in tears, I read about women gaining major weight and I was so scared. Thank god from bleeding though for 3 months I lost a lot of weight, I could eat anything and it wouldn't effect me!! I had absolutely no energy though so I don't know if it was worth it. I still have 2 needles sitting at the pharmacy for me and they will stay there as I will never take that again. Good luck and I hope it isn't the same for you, I have talked to women who love it but for me it was a nightmare. Hard part too is that it is non reversable. By the way doctors know thats a side effect but they forget to mention that until after you take it and it starts happening to you!! If your bleeding of course your body is going to be hungry....you can talk to me anytime.0

Sorry your having a hard time...I think most important you need to sit down and make a written plan and stick to it and this includes on how you will tackle the weekend....the choices you make on the weekend can and will sabotage your hard work during the week..secondly I dont think your excercising enough if your able try to shoot for 5-6 days a week for 60minutes..cardio & strength training. As far as Depo goes Im totally against putting that stuff into our bodies ..do some research on it a Diaphram is a much better option but of course thats just my opinion lol....especially while your trying to tackle weight loss and excercise...you need to have the least amount of side effects in regards to pills, medicine,BC and so on... I hope this helps...and yes take a vitamin im sitting here sleepy for 2 days and remembered I havent taken my own vitamin all week!!0

I too had the depo shot years ago and same thing happened to me 3 months straight. It was horrible. I wasn't tired all the time though.
When you started running early in the morning did you start going to sleep early in the evening. Waking up earlier and using that much energy in the AM and not getting more sleep could make you extra tired. Your body may be playing catch up.
I get that way when I try to do to much. I to am a single mom and we try to do way to much in sort periods of time. Drink lots of water and get some good sleep for a couple days. You may feel better.0 -
Well my experience with depo was good and bad. I bleed for awhile but then my period went away completey. That was the good thing, the bad I gained 35lbs from it. My suggestion about the weekend is still keep track of everything. If you want to eat a little more or whatever if you track what you eat you wont let yourself go to far over. You need to keep with it or your weight will just fluxuate and you need to keep a close eye on everything now so you dont gain so much weight from the shot. Good luck!!0

I think I would go to my primary doctor (not necessarily your OB/GYN) and ask for bloodwork. My first thought about the tiredness and bleeding is anemia. I use to give blood regularly and was tired all of the time, especially during my period. My doctor told me to stop giving, which breaks my heart to do, but my blood levels haven't been anemic since. Just a suggestion, but at least starting from the bloodwork, you might be able to see what your body is "up to." I pray God will give you the answers soon and give you comfort and peace!0

I TOTALLY feel for you! I had an IUD put in almost two months ago, and I have felt my energy go from 100% to about 20%, if even, and have had spotting every single day...I do the same thing as you: eat well, take vitamins, drink water....It makes it very difficult to get through the day, let alone work out!!!
Be gentle with yourself...do what you can as far as exercise is concerned, and I suggest giving the Depo some time if you feel like you can stick it out...stay in contact with your doctor, and if you don't improve in the next few weeks, you may need to explore other options.
I truly hope you start feeling better soon!

P.S. I agree with the idea to get blood work done...
I have become Iron-deficient from the spotting, and that can make you exhausted. They'll probably put you on iron supplements if that is the case.0 -
I totally agree with you. The first thing to check is blood work to rule out anemia since you have been spotting. That would also require you taking a multivitamin with B supplements and depending on what the doctor says, you may need to take one with iron in it. If you're getting up early you need to go to bed early too. Medication does have different side effects for different people.
As far as your week end habits go, I learn a long time ago that a lot of things is just a mind game. If you can channel your mind to stay away from the bad stuff and make a conscious effort to choose the right stuff, you'd be surprise. I am battling with this right now myself and realize that every minute of everyday it's a choice I must make. Good luck!!0 -
I am also 5ft 4 in also weighing 190lbs and I am on a 1500 cal because I burn at least 750 just in cardio per day and I have trouble eating back all that cal. After this is sorted out, you should try to up your exercise to burn more cal so you can probably eat a little more cal.0
