Do you think having a Tan makes you appear thinner, then having no tan?

I don't think so. It also has really harmful repercussions, so I would say I'd rather be pale and healthy :D

I vote for not tan. I've never liked the orange look... I prefer the pale look. :)

How about this perspective: its not healthy.... Ive worked with a Dermatologist as his Accounts Receivable Manager, and I cant tell you the number of skin-related medical issues, skin-related cancers due to excessive tanning, and the effects of tanning in general.... its horrible and rediculous...all at the same time.

Im pale as a ghost and on a certain medication that prohibits exposure to sun no more than 15 minutes per day.... I like my pastey white skin and would never ever want to be tanned simply due to medical problems that can manifest from it!

Well if it works the same way dark clothing does then I guess that means a tan would make you look thinner. But I'm gonna say no defintely not - just to make myself feel better. I'm one of those people that cannot tan. If I get any color it's white to red and back to white. LOL

I prefer skin over leather. No tanning for this mamma.

I think it depends on the person, but I prefer pale skin. I've never understood the look that some people get where their skin is nearly the same color as their hair...

If going for the tanned look you'd want to get a good fake tan, so it would be healthy and not make you orange.

I tanned like crazy when I was younger, wether it be outside during the summer or tanning beds thru the winter. I stopped that into my late twenties. I do prefer myself with some color but I now use only self tanning lotion. I have found some that I really like that are not smelly and the color is really natural looking. I don't use it all the time, but here and there. Mostly before vacations.

I have been a sunscreen freak ever since my daughter was born 12 years ago and still put sunscreen on her whenever necessary. And seeing we live in AZ she is used to getting it on alot! LOL

I prefer to be paie. Tanning isn't healthy. When I lived in Kansas I used to work with some ladies who used to tan all the time and their skin looked like leather. I never understood why they thought they looked better than their normal skin tone.

I love the naturally tanned, sun-kissed look. I think it makes you look much healthier and more vibrant. I've never gone to a tanning salon, but I love how I look in the summer when I'm outside at the beach lots and have that nice glow!
