How realistic do you think my goal is ?
I'm starting to have doubts basically i want to lose 40.2 kg (88.62 lbs) in the next 12 months or to be exact 52 weeks
it didnt seem so impossible when i started
I have MFP set to lose 2 pounds a week and while i am losing weight its not exactly 2 pounds a week its more like 0.4kg (0.9 lbs) a week and at that rate ill only lose 20.8kg (45 lbs) which is no where near my goal
Ive tried eating my excercise calories back and while i still lost it was allot lower like 0.2kg (0.5lbs) so ive gone back to eating around half and somedays i still eat all of them back but im pretty much never over ,,,, on top of that im getting my calories from healthy sources have cut out all sweet drinks except my 2 daily coffees im drinking around 2-3 litres of water a day i dont eat white breads ,,, vegtables make up most of my meals i have taken in lean proteins and just in general im eating really clean
On top of that im excercising everyday usually for a hour , on slower days 30 minutes or on higher days around 90 minutes
so what do you think? is it just that my goal is unrealistic should i be aiming lower i was really hoping to hit my goal by november 17th next year as thats a friends wedding day and pretty much the only time i will have gotten to go out and get dressed up in 4 years since i have 3 young children and these events pretty much never happen for me so i was real excited to go shopping and look great ,,,,,,,,,,
oh and just to add all this doesnt even take in to account the days where i go a stray like eating to much getting take away not excercisng etc etc

That is about 2 pounds a week. It is definitely obtainable. I've seen people do it. The more strict you are and the harder you work the better your results will be. No matter what don't give up. It will get tough but you have to keep on truckin'0

Ok first I just want to say that our bodies are not some kind of mathmatical equation. MFP is just an approximation when it says 2 lbs every week. They have no idea how our bodies will respond. And second weight loss is more of a journey (well for me) I want to loose the weight and more important KEEP it off. You have lost alot of weight so far. It takes hard work and you have to give yourself credit. It will come off in time. And when it does you will have learned the tools to keep it off.0

Don't stress about number goals - you are eating healthy and exercising and if you keep this up, by next year you will see MASSIVE changes.
Keep up the good work!0 -
I don't think your goal is "unrealistic". Your body is going to have good weeks and bad weeks, and your weight is going to show good weeks and bad weeks. Life happens all around us while we are trying to lose weight!
Everyone's brains work a little differently. Some folks do better with more frequent smaller "mini-goals". I am that type of person. I have an "Eventually I'd like to weigh ____" goal and I have a goal that i would like to hit by the end of the year, and another I'd like to hit at Easter, another mid - summer and another end of year 2012... Chopping it up a little might help you.0 -
I totally agree that our bodies are not a mathematical equation. You are losing weight, you are doing it sustainably and you are changing your life for the better. Yes you have to have goals BUT you can only control your body to a certain degree. I find it better to have activity-based goals, measurable things to do with my strength and fitness, and not set a time-limit on the weight loss part of it.
IF you were to lose 20 kgs how amazing would that be, how much better will you feel and look? Don't get discouraged and beat yourself up or get disappointed about the actual weight in the long distant future. If you were 20 kgs lighter for the wedding, it would be better than where you are not, right, so that would be a big win.

Thanks guys, I'm not looking to give up because of this wether i do it in a year or 10 im going to keep at it ,, my health and family are to important for me to throw this away
im just asking wether i should maybe be more generous with the time ive allocated myself to do this i'd love love love to be at my goal by next year but i dont want to get my hopes up just to realise its not going to happen by then
I'm kind of a numbers person i liek to see things in formulas and laid out in front of me i guess it gives me some guidence and security , although i do know that my body isnt exact and that even though mfp is set to 2lbs i know that its not going to be exact ,, would just be nice to be even close to that at this pont it seems even though im doing everything right ,,, the weights i get are drasticly lower than the prediction
guess im going to have to do some thinking and work on trying to keep myself in the right mind set to keep going0
