have you guys had experience with having a missed cycle but still having a negative home pregnancy test? did you guys have to go to the doctor to verify? or did you have to wait a bit longer for the hormone to build up? pregnancy symptoms could easily be attributed to something else, but have you experienced a false test when you WERE pregnant? care to share stories?

    Best thing to do is to go to a dr and have a blood test. It will pick up any amount of the hcg hormone, that way there is no wondering :smile:

    With my first kiddo, the home pregnancy test came back ever-so-slightly positive. I went to the doctor to confirm and their urine test said negative. So, I asked for a blood test and that ended up coming back positive.

    I have the IUD and miss cycles all the time now. Apparently that's one of the perks of having the IUD. LOL! Anyway, how late are you? I'm kind of an expert in this field. Feel free to message me...

    You can get a false negative. It's very rare that you get a false positive.

    The thing about a HPT is you have to be so far along for you to show up on one. Also, it depends on the time of day you take the test. If you take it first thing in the morning you have a more accurate test. After you drink all day, it dilutes your urine the test won't necessarily show a positive.

    The best thing to do is schedule an appt. with the doctor. However, most doctors tell you to wait a couple weeks after your missed period.

    That happened with my first pregnancy. I took a test & was like phew. My mom was still insisting I was pregnant so a couple weeks later I took another test. It came out positive.

    I found out I was pregnant 3 days after missing a period with 2 home pregnancy test. But blood test are 100% accurate.

    I've never experienced that, but I take my birth control religiously and have been for several years now. I've been taking BC so long, sometimes I wonder if I can GET pregnant, LOL! *knock on wood*

    My 2 testes were just lightly saying positive I waited 2 weeks after I missed my period and my tummy felt so weird so i tested again 5 tests all positive I didnt believe it....so i went to doctors and asked I want a pee test...it was so funny cause as she did the test she told me okay we have to wait 5 mins before results show..as soon as she put it DOWN it showed pregnant lol less than 1sec.. lol

    mines a lil different.
    i took several tests and they were all Neg and i found out i was 22 weeks pregnant
    no tummy no symptoms nothing...but i got my period.."well a bleed" the whole time
    its very common to get false neg, id just request a blood test they are the best viable test
    to go from.
