Working out w siblings

My brother is in great shape. He lifts weights and rock climbs. He wants to help me in the weight room, but he always ends up trying to show off or gives me too much weight and then says, "Really, you can't lift that?'"
I want his mentorship, but I want to address him about his style before I get frustrated. Any advice?

Oh my gosh! I have 3 older brothers and when I would go to the gym with them in high school they were horrible to me. Just tell him straight up that you don't like it. You can do your own thing at your own pace without him being sassy about it. Whatever you do, don't reciprocate. I still can't work out with guys without feeling self conscious. Nip it in the bud girlie!0

I would just tell him straight up. He is your brother, after all. Just make sure to let him know how much you appreciate him for helping you, and then let him know that what he is doing with the weight and comments is affecting your motivation. Whatever you do, good luck!0
