hello all i got a new sport watch yesterday which i decided to use this morning along side the wii active game i use everyday, the game has a heart rate monitor you wear on your arm at a pulse point wrist or elbow the watch how ever has a chest strap. now ive done my work out and the difference in calories is 105.1 the the watch is giving a higher calories burnt than the game. so my question is should i use the game cals burnt or the watches as i havent log my exercise yet?????

that depends greatly on the watch type. Cheap watches use less involved and accurate formula's. I have no experience about how accurate the Wii would be for that, but knowing the amount of money and effort nintendo puts into things, I'd imagine the formula is at least decent. One advantage the Wii has over an HRM is that it can detect not only heart rate, but movement levels as well, whether they factor that in or not, I don't know, but it can be a factor if they do.

the watch was set to my height and weight i only donned the chest strap just before start so there is a minute or so delay between the game and the watch, i had it on hrm with calories burnt going and also timer

in all honesty im not sure how accurate any hrm is after all its guessing how many cals etc i may just log the game cals atleast then i know im on a good losing streak :-)

I just log what my games say and passive trainer bike.. I don't eat all the exercise cals so at least that way I definitely have a deficit even if the game etc over or under estimated the calorie burn.
