It's not my place to suggest someone would be fired or not. If I managed someone like that who gave customer service like I mentioned, I think that they deserve to lose their job, no matter what kind of job that is.

Holy Crap, are you kidding me? That is rude!! Some people.

& to the girl who clearly needs to take a chill pill - We have ALL worked in customer service/retail industry in our lives once before. Just because you're bitter and beaten down, does not mean we all are. In no way was his comments acceptable or appropriate. For him to say she knows nothing, is completely out of line. That is not making conversation, that is being condescending and sexist. I have dealt with the worst of the worst customers in my life, and that doesn't give me an excuse to make rude comments. (and I know fayve personally, and she is by far the opposite of a bad customer) I've been trained in every which way, how to make conversation, how to deal with conflict in the workplace, etc, and in no way would his manager deem this appropriate small talk. If you honestly feel that what he said was appropriate I'd ask your manager to train you again before you lose your job due to someone complaining about your bitter and cold personality.

& also, in no way did the OP assume or suggest that all clerks are idiots. I know for a fact she's worked as a clerk before, why would she say that? So please, save us all some time, and read properly before you reply. You clearly need a reality check.
