Weekly net calories

PLEASE COMMENT!!!!
I've been stuck at the same weight range for 80 days now. This gets extremely frustrating.

I read people who can eat whatever they want and still lose those calories. I post for help, people suggest more protein or less carbs... lol being STRICT is not my best. I work out plenty every week. I do cardio and weight training... still nothing has worked.

I calculated last weeks net calories. I was another 1k under my set goal. Is this most likely my issue? Is the fact that I am really good at not eating above my daily calorie goal actually hindering me? Should I make sure to try to force that number closer to the target goal or is this not the issue at all. You will see today I went to the movies, I had sugar and such, I went over my calories of course. But overall, if you look at my daily values... you can see I am consistently under and if I do go over its not often!

Does anybody have any information on just the net calories? Does that 4,500 calorie deficit really make a difference?

I've seen people comment on how its not possible to stick to your calories and not lose weight, (remember 80 days!!!)!!!!
How can I be the proof of otherwise? I know thats the law of something or other!

  • I can only speak to my experience and how my body reacts, but if I don't eat close to the calories MFP tells me is my goal, I don't lose weight. When I am stuck at a weight for awhile, I really focus on eating close to the total calories allowed. Wish I had great advice for you, but that is what works for me.:ohwell:

I took a look at your diary (but only a week back)
Watch the Sodium, lots of processed foods and little fruits/veggies
Water intake- looking at your ticker, based on your size you should be aiming for 11-12 cups per day (1/2 your body weight) and increasing that when you are working out.

Sugar- seems your sugar is coming from processed foods and candy treats. I have lots of treats - I will never give up my peanut butter cups and mini chocolate bars.....but you need to make sure you are not consumng to much. Even if you stay under your body does not react to them.

I have been the same weight for 7 weeks...so I feel your pain.....

You can break through this! I am not a Dr and its only my opnion and what worked for me- increase the water, reduce the processed sugar and try to get some fruits and veggies, and look at the sodium intake (you need even more water when you sodium is that high)

Hope you are having a great day! Keep your chin up! Keep moving forward!

Inc calories to 2k for 2 weeks.
Custom your goals under settings>goals>change goals>customize>continue

    Set calories to 2000
    Carbs to 40%
    Protein to 30%
    Fat to 30%

This will work wonders on fat loss and muscle gain!

Well, I was netting pretty low (usually below weekly goal) and kept fluctuating the same 2lbs last month. I started netting 100 calories higher and the scale told me I lost nearly 2lbs in 2 days ? But I haven't had an official weigh in since because of various reasons lol. Will find out Monday if this actually worked for me or not! But the last time I plateaued, the only thing that helped was increasing my daily calorie intake. I'm hoping the same holds true now.

Thanks Loves!!! I have good days with my veggies and protein, then I have bad ones. Usually when I am at work I have vegetables and meat. I seriously carry a salad bag and veggies with some sort of meat to work to cook up (so I don't eat my horribly greasy food cart food, ie corn dogs, chicken wings...etc).

Last night I ate more calories then my daily level allotted and dropped nearly 1.5 lbs! I need to figure out now if this means I need to be super close to my daily allowance or if I need to up my calories in general. I am reaching for more protein and am turning down more stuff. Its A LOT easier to do all this when you see some sort of result! :D I really appreciate everything guys!

For some the body is like a furnace!
You cant heat your house by feeding a pencil or 2 into the furnace!
    You have to EAT!
    And eat well!
My suggestion would be for you to jump on www.bodybuilding.com forums and look for the sticky "I will calculate your macros and BMR for cutting" Its by FlexDiaz.
Put in your info and he will do all the calculations to the gram of your protein, carbs and fat.
    Very informative!
