To weigh or not???????

So I have taken an oath NOT to weight myself for a whole month.
I have a very self destructive relationship with the scale.
If I lost a pound I thought it was ok to eat “extra” food. And then I would gain weight.
So now I’m in my 4th week and I’ll be free to weigh myself this Saturday.
My clothes all fit GREAT!
I “feel” lighter and stronger.
I work out 5 days a week and hold true to my food diary.
So I guess my question is… what is the added benefit of weighing myself?
What if I weigh myself and I have not lost anything?

well, telling by your profile picture, Im not sure if you have room to lose weight! lol
but if the scale says you gained PLEASE dont kill yourself over it. You more than likely have built more muscle.
And the most important part is being happy when you look in the mirror, try your clothes on, and over all simply feel better.
great job!0 -
If you are not looking to lose anything but just maintain dont weigh. There is no reason for it especially if you have a love/hate relationship with that scale! Losing weight is more mental than it is physical0

Death to all scales!
The only reason I weigh myself is so I can update MFP to know how many calories I should be eating.. Im keeping my weigh in's to once every 2 weeks..
It almost feels like I traded in an addiction with food with an addiction with a stupid number on a stupid scale lol0 -
If you feel great then by all means Skip the scale,
Let your endurance, feelings & clothes show your progress.
When you begin to feel a bit snug in those Jeans then you know to hit the basics but overall from your photo you look great & honestly what will a number on the scale prove at this point?0 -
Thank you everyone for the advice!
You are all correct! What is a number on a scale if I feel great and my clothes fit!
This is one of the many reasons I love MFP! MEGA HUGE support.
BTW.. my weight hangs in the lower half…:grumble:
I guess you could say I got junk in my trunk. :laugh:0 -
Yea, definitely not! Keep up the good work!0
