Reached plateau

So I only lost 0.6 lbs over 3 days.... any tips on breaking this plateau? I've been eating maybe 75% of my exercise calories and been running 4-7 miles every other day so this is frustrating.

I have his a plateau too, although it's worse than yours. Scale hasn't moved in over a week. I've decided to just try and hit goal and push forward. Body will adjust eventually.

Umm, if you're still losing .6 lbs over 3 days you haven't plateaued. If you said, "I haven't lost any weight over 3 weeks", then maybe you have a valid concern. At this point, give it time and keep doing what you're doing.

  • .6 lb in three days is a loss of 1.4 pounds a week. That is NOT a plateau...

Um... if you're losing weight, then you haven't plateaued. Just because you may not be losing at the rate in which you WANT to lose it - doesn't mean you've hit a plateau. And quite honestly, 3 days isn't long enough to make a judgement either way.

If you go more than a month without ANY weight loss -- then you can come back and talk to us about plateauing. Until then - carry on.

You haven't plateaued. Once a month hits or so with no weight loss, then you have hit a plateau.

^^ THIS. 0.6 lost over 3 days works out to a pace of 1.4 lost for a week. that's right in the middle of the ideal 1-2 pound loss per week. I can have a rock solid week and lose little, follow it up with another rock solid week and lose over 2 pounds....sometimes your body just isn't ready to give up weight at a particular time. sometimes its water retention/sodium issues. regardless, you know not what a true plateau is yet.

I agree with this. I have been at the same fluctuating weight since the middle of Aug. Up 3 down 3. Hang in there you will get back your mojo.

0.2 lbs per day is actually pretty great - that's about 6 lbs per month. :-)

My scale will even go UP for several days in a row, especially when I'm working out really hard - your body has natural fluctuations that you just have to deal with and not freak out over. Some weeks you'll see numbers go down faster than others, some weeks it'll go up, just watch the trend over time.

Losing .6 lbs in 3 days or 'the scale not moving for a week' is not a plateau, its just a week that your body is adjusting to recent changes. Give it time!

You guys are right.... so many variables that can affect weight and I'm still losing - after I went to pee just now I lost 0.4 lbs lol.... so 1 lb over 3 days isn't that bad!
