Need Encouragement Tonight

This week I ate my exercise calories and then some almost every day! For some reason, tonight I am craving Turtle chocolate candy something awful!! Also, I went to the dentist yesterday and I have an infection, and taking antibiotics, which I have to take with food, and at night my dosage is after eight. I never eat after eight, and I'm scared if I eat a little something it might mess my progress up. Need encouragement!

Don't worry about eating late. As long as you have calories left in your day, you can eat late and be just fine.
As for the chocolate, you can have that too, just have a smaller portion of it.
This journey is not about depriving yourself. Enjoy what you eat, just control it.0 -
I agree with Elizabeth, save a few calories for the late night meds and have the chocolate in moderation, I discovered years ago that a strong craving means trouble if you don't manage it.0

A couple spoons of yogurt, a couple crackers or a glass of skim milk is usually enough on the stomach with antibiotics. Hope the infection clears quickly so you can stay focused on healthier you!0

Hang in there my friend. Save a few calories for the nite med. Just remember you are in this for the long haul. You have already lost 15 LBS. You are a winner and you are and will get the job done. And if one day you go over a little it is not the end of the world. There is always that great thing known as tomorrow!0

remember that "take with food" usu means a few crackers or almonds...I know the cravings are difficult, but it really is a sense we can overcome most of the time...really. keep yourself busy, esp at night...I stay right here, on my laptop. chocolate on the keyboard would be sticky!

Just save some calories for when u need to take your antibiotics, as long as your not over it won't mess you up.0

I have found that often when I think I have to have something-especially candy--just a bite or two will satisfy me. And you think "I can't throw away that food"(keeping it for later does not work for me)because I always eat it sooner then later. So, take a bite or two and savor it and then toss the rest.
Most of the time you can take meds that say "take with food" with a small amount of milk. If you drank 1/2 cup of skim milk that would only be around 40 calories,0 -
As many said, yes, save some calories to take with the meds and do be sure to have "probiotic yogurt" in your diet while you are on the antibiotics. I didn't know I was supposed eat yogurt until about the 4th day in on intravenous antibiotics and I paid the price. You are doing marvellously well. Keep up the good work! :-)0

Ditto on all the above. In the last few years I've gained tons of weight because I stopped paying attention to how much i was eating/drinking. I just started Myfitnesspal a few days ago but I know that keeping track with this site will remind me everyday what my priorities and goals are. I've realized that cutting back and watching everything we consume takes constant awareness. Since I'm not ready to give up my one drink a day yet (glass of wine or a good belgium beer) I'm gonna cut back on some carbs and save it for my indulgence drink once a day.
You're a beautiful woman and it inspires me to see you ask for support and others so willing to offer sincere encouragement. Don't deprive yourself - just stay within your daily calorie allotment . You're doing great!0 -
One thing I always do, if I eat something late at night (I mean late late, like 2) I stay up for at least an extra hour to allow my body to digest it some.0

I agree with what has already been said. I just learned recently that the whole late night thing isnt as important as the overall calories so I stop beating myself up about having to eat late. Enjoy in moderation and you'll be fine. Strong inside and out.0

You can't loose weight and exercise if you aren't healthy, so do what the perscription says. Like others are saying eat some crackers or something small. I take meds every night and I eat a special k bar or kelloggs choc. chip bar. They are only 90 calories. Hope you feel better soon.0

Have a look for some low sugar hot chocolate powder, I get mine at the health food shop. Organic cocao powder. If I am craving a choc fix at night then make this with skim mllk not too bad calorie wise and would do to take tablet with.
Dental infections are horrid get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water and take a probiotic.0
