Less fat, more cellulite

I started at 204 lbs, and have lost 28 lbs. ; ) Inches lost around the waist, thighs and arms. However, my arms, in losing fat are getting a clumpy look. The skin hangs loosely, with big ugly clumps of cellulite here and there. I have the same problem on the thighs, but I'm less concerned because my thighs are not exposed the way my arms are. I'm in my 60ies, and heaven knows, the body does not have the resiliency it has when you are less than 50.

Has anyone had this problem in losing? And what did you find worked best at getting rid of both the baggy skin, and the clumpy look? And if you are past 50, did your body adjust eventually? I am about half way through my weight loss goals.

    Hi,
I'm 26 and have noticed the same effect, mainly on my legs but also my upper arms. I started at 180lb and have lost 17lb (also about half way through my goal). I'm using a good moisturiser with Vitamin E that is supposed to be great for improving skin elasticity (I'm also hoping to lessen my stretchmarks from my recent pregnancy). I'm also planning on buying a body brush (the ones with the hard wooden pegs, as well as a brush) as I'm told that is supposed to help break up the fat is used in the shower. Also, you can target those areas with extra toning muscles to keep you in shape, but it is the overal cardio that is going to help most with actvely getting rid of the bumps.

  • im the same on my legs.....massage is what i do to help even the skin!!! when im in the shower i scrub in circular movements my bum and thighs !!!! and drink loads of water
  • I've heard that strength training and building lean muscle mass is the only way to get this to tighten up, and be prepared to have it take some time, but I'd be interested to hear from an expert on the topic, as well. :) I wish you luck and congratulations on your weight loss!

Edit: Here's a pretty informative article I found that suggests something similar- http://www.livestrong.com/article/107354-tips-strength-training-reduce-cellulite/
