Hey guys...I've been doing the 30 Day Shred for a few days now & just wanted to get a lil feedback from anyone who has done it before. What were your results? How often did you workout? Did you do 30 days in a row or did you take a day off here & there? Did you do any other workouts( dvd's, gym, tredmill, walk bike etc...) Is there anyone doing the "30 Day Shred" now? What are some other workout DVD's you may have found to be helpful? Any feedback would be helpful? Thanks mfp members you all keep me  motivated!!!!

I liked the shred, however I found it to be to high impact for me. I did 26 days with some days off. I didnt lose alot of weight but did feel in better shape. I found Leslie Sansone Walk Fit worked better for me.

I did the 30 day shred in 2008. If I was using my PC instead of my cell phone I would post the pics of my arms and abs.. it works. I mixed it with a strict diet of lean white meats, whole grains, and high fiber. I also did the biggest loser cardiovascular max with it
to. Went from 145lbsa to 130lbs and I was ripped!
  • I'm about to start it too. My plan right now is to do 30 days in a row plus 30 mins of cardio (treadmill or elliptical) 5 times a week. We will see once I get started. I still need an exercise mat to start.

    Pray for me.

I'm on Day 18 and I've done it everyday. I am avoiding the scale for the rest of the month but I can already see and feel the difference in my body. When I started I was a loose size 10 and a tight 8 now I'm a pretty solid 8. You will probably see a weight gain at first, that's the water retention from your muscles growing. Don't freak out. It'll pass. Up your protein (as much as 1 gram protein per pound of body weight but no more than 175 grams per day). Get plenty of healthy fats like nuts and avocado.

I also love her Yoga Meltdown. I will be starting her No More Trouble Zones, and Fat Burn and Boost Metabolism next month.

I loved the Shred. I finished it for the first time about 3 weeks ago. I lost 4 pounds and 7 inches total, which was awesome since I only had abou 10 pounds left to lose. I did take one day off each each week, but I still did 30 exercise days(10 on each level). I have now moved on to Ripped in 30 which I think is a little harder than the Shred but I still love it!

I did it for 30 days last year-10 days at level 1, 10 days at level 2 and 10 days at level 3, and I recently started it again but I heard Jillian Michaels, in her podcast say it was never intended to be done for 30 days in a row. She said 3-4 days per week with other cardio.
I have to say, my results the first time, I got stronger but I did not have any appreciable drop in body fat. It's only 21 minutes of exercisse (not counting warm up and cool down) and even though I tried to eat at calorie-deficit I wasn't that compliant.
I am doing it now, about every other day until I start the Jamie Eason live-fit 12 week trainer.

I'm doing 30DS now. I'm on day 13. I did 11 days straight and yesterday failed at getting my motivation to do it. I did level 1 for 10 days and that wasn't a problem. I started level 2 on day 11 and that killed my motivation. My left knee was hurting really bad and making a crunching sound after I did level 2. So yesterday which would have been day 12 I didn't do the 30DS. Tonight I plan on trying to do level 2 again and see if I can modify it to not hurt my left knee. If I can't then I'm going back to level 1 for a few more days and will then try level 3.

I go to the gym Mon-Fri and usually try to do some sort of activity like bike riding during the weekend. At the gym I go to Zumba and Spin classes. I have been doing the 30DS usually after my morning cardio but sometimes I end up doing it at night. I can definitely feel a difference in my body but I haven't checked my measurements yet. I plan on doing that after the 30 days.

I have also tried Jillian's Shredding with Weights which uses a kettlebell. I like it alot ... good workout.
  • I love the 30 day shred!! I'm doing it right now and I already feel more toned! I'm on day 11 :D I do 10 days workout 1, 10 days workout 2 then 10 days workout 3. I do it daily since it's so short and I used 3lb weights but I've heard 5lbs work better. ~ Everyone feel free to add me.~ :)

I really like the 30 Day Shred, but the name of the video is very misleading. Your body needs to rest and you really shouldn't do it everyday. When I do it I add it into my routine a couple days a week. Good luck.

Thanks so much for your feedback guys...it is so helpful. You all ROCK!!!!
  • HI, I've just started level 3 of the shred. I started it on 1st October so yep, you can say I definitley haven't done it everyday LOL but I also play golf a couple of times a week and have a rest day or two too. It was the first time I'd done any aerobic excercise ever but Ive been able to keep up with it OK, altho the first few days of each level was hard going! After the first 30 days I measured and had lost 4" from my waist and I put that totally down to the shred toning me up. its a good dvd, gonna try the burn fat boost metabolism one of hers next as its a longer workout.... I must be mad!!! :D
