I just starting my 2nd week of Half Marathon training and looking for any one who has some trips for me. Whether you have any good training tricks, tips or a special training diet regimen, etc. Feel free to post comments or add me to discuss further.
Thanks!

Replying so this is in my topics, but within the next 365 days I will run a half. My frickin' ankle has been giving me issues (been at the doc 3x in the past two months).
I WILL RUN A HALF BY OCT 2012.
Good luck to you though!!0 -
The most important tip I can offer is to listen to your body. I've taken off a couple days during my current marathon training, one day due to being extremely tired from lack of sleep. If you do take a day off, don't try to make the miles up. A random day off is not going to have any real affect on your training.0

just decided to sign up for my first 10K. I'd love to read what others say on here
good luck on your half!0 -
Find a training plan that works for you and stick to it. If you have to repeat a week, that's fine! Just keep plugging away.
If you have not been fitted for proper shoes for you, go do that. Work with different fueling methods on the long run to find what works best for you.
Good luck!0 -
Just thought I'd ask on here as well, I think I posted a topic already but I have no idea half the time if I am doing it right ha. So I will just repost on this thread since I got some good advice last time... *clears throat*
I just finished a 13 mile long run on Thursday night (11/17) and I am doing a 10-week Half Marathon plan. I am just starting Week 9 and my plan calls for one more long run (10 miler) next weekend Friday/Saturday (end of Week 9). But with the Thanksgiving holiday coming up, the iffy weather and I will be going home for Thanksgiving I am not sure how much time I will have to get out and get that last long run in. So I was thinking of going for my last long run this Tuesday (11/22) and then just doing short runs until my Half Marathon. The only problem is my half marathon is not until the following Sunday night (12/4), so that leaves over a week and a half without a long run, is that TOO much time in-between long runs? I mean I will be doing some shorter runs in-between that time and I know you should taper your runs before your event but would that be too much tapering?? Should I just hope for the best and make time this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend so there is only my normal 6-7 days in-between runs rather than 11-12 days in-between?? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks everyone!0
