I am a single mom of a one year old and never have the time to workout in the
mornings like the sites suggest. I was wondering if I'm doing
myself any good working out at night. or does it really matter?
any and all help on this would be great.

any exercise is better than no exercise. don't worry about it and find the easiest way for you to fit things into your life, that way you will keep it up for the long term0

Workout whenever you can. You can even spread your workout throughout the day a few minutes at a time. If you can do a full workout at night, do it at night. Just find something you like and do it. Good luck.0

I have a two year old and the easiest time for me to workout is the hour after he goes to bed. It is easy to talk myself out of it, but after getting in the habit it gets easier. Sometimes I can squeeze a workout out into my lunch hour if I missed the night before. Your muscles don't really care what time of day it is, so do what you can.0

I read a few articles on this a few weeks ago - its actually not THAT good for you to workout in the morning. Its good because you get it done and you won't have excuses not to exercise later in the day. But its bad for you because your body is not properly hydrated or fueled for an intense 1-2 hour workout. In order to make a morning workout totally worth it, you'd have to wake up at least an hour early, drink at least half a liter of water, and eat a breakfast of 3-400 calories to get your metabolism going. You can't work your hardest and your body will undergo biological stress, and can actually mess up your system. Its like trying to start a car without any gas - you'll kill your engine!
With college and a part-time job, I only ever have time to workout at night. So I understand where you're coming from. Just make the commitment and follow through with it, no excuses!
Good luck, sweetheart!0 -

Somtimes I don't get a chance to work out until the clan goes asleep or in the afternoon when their napping or at school. You can do it, you just have to get it in when you can. Just as long as you do it.0

I'm really glad to hear this, because my access to the 'equipment' I'm using for my workouts is my son's XBox, and he takes a dim view of sharing.
I also read yesterday on this forum that Netflix has some streaming workout programs, so I'm going to try those, too at some point. Which still requires unfettered access to the TV!0
