My first Triathlon

I have decided to do my first triathlon. I am going to do the Jack's Genteric Triathlon on August 2nd. It is a 500m swim, 13.8 mile ride and a 3 mile run. It will be at the Texas Ski Ranch in New Braunfels,TX. It is just right down the road from where I live. The only bad thing is that I have to go to work that afternoon at 1pm. I am hoping that I can either get off of work or get a couple of hours of work off.

    Whooo!!! Good for you!

    A friend of mine does triathalons and I went to one of hers- looks like fun! I was considering getting involved in one too. Any suggestions on how to find out about ones in my area?

    Anyway, congrats! You will do great!:smile:

    Good Luck!! They are sooo much fun! Do you have a road bike? Make sure you do some lake swimming before the tri, it is much different than swimming in a pool. I love the spring tri's, I've also done an olympic distance(CHicago) and the swim portion of a half ironman as a team.

    Good luck!!! I got into tris last summer and love it!! My first one this year is June 6th, can't wait! :bigsmile:
