My name is Lori. I'm 57 and a hairstylist. I was just diagnosed as pre diabetic.
I'm really trying to focus on getting healthy instead of the numbers on the scale. Although I would be so happy to lose weight as well. Probably have 40+ lbs to lose. Getting motivated to exercise is my main problem right now.
Diabetes type 2 runs in the family and I don't want to just keep going and live with the consequences of being lazy.
I love this program and I'm looking forward to the info this group can provide me

  • Hi Lori!
  • Lori, Diabetes runs in my family as well and my mother is struggling with it right now and her mother (my nana) died of a heart attach bc of it. I was diagnosed with Metabolic X Syndrome last year and I was put on medicine that people take for diabetes. If you want to be fit and healthy and get a balance on the insulin I would say see about seeing a nutrisionist or dietican. It helps to know exactly what you can do to make it work for you. I know you have to lower your sugar and carb intake but theres alot of resources out there and making talking to a nutrisionits will motivate you

    Welcome Lori,

if you ever need support or motivation this site is great. Since you log all your food and exercises you will see how you are doing and what you can change. Feel free to add me if you want me to motivate you to work out more often :)
