I started rollerskating again this past summer, and I LOVE IT! I loved it when I was 8 years and I love it still !
But I don't think I could do as well on rollerblades. Since I started rollerskating again I have seen many people doing it. I met a 75 year old man skating at the rink! he was really good!

I think a better spoof on that would be: The most interesting man in the world on rollerblading, "I don't normally exercise, but when I do, I like to rollerblade..." :D

On a serious note though, I am in the market for inline skates my self. Used to do it 15+ years ago and it was fun, and have some friends now that skate every week. Be a nice change of pace from time to time from the treadmill/elliptical/crossramp routine.

Thats what I thought, I still run, and do strength training, but I like rollerblading because its different. It's especially fun to do at night :)

I go roller blading with my dog... not sure how great that is for me, but she loves it!! Although I do go up hills for me! I do love skating though, so its basically the same thing.

I rollerblade tonnes in the summer, and skate tonnes in the winter.

You actually burn a lot of calories rollerblading. When I wore a bodybugg while rollerblading, my calories burned were some of the highest I've seen from any workout I did. Even though it may seem easy, all your core muscles are working to keep you balanced and moving.

I love it. I took a good spill last week though and I went again today. I coudln't get to going as well as I was but a guys gotta recover right? My dog loves going when i take him. He's a Jack Russell so the faster I go the better until he tuckers out.

I bought some skates last year, fell over and hurt myself on my first attempt and haven't used them since. Might give them a go again soon though, I suspect my centre of gravity has changed slighty since I started this so hopefully I should be able to balance better by summer (without my gut pulling me over). I loved it as a child, just need to get my confidence back.

Yes! I started in January and I've been rollerblading about once per week. :)
  • When I lived in Florida I went all the time 10-15 miles a day. Maybe 4-5 days a week. Very good for the legs and back!
