Im new to weight loss and exercising. i was just wondering as you proceed to loose fat weight does it get harder to shed the lbs. like for instance a 250 lb person burns way more calories than a 145 lb person. how do you keep up with the change in weight to keep on loosing??

Keep bumping up the workout. It doesnt really mean you have to work LONGER per say, but you do have to go faster and lift more weight.. The thing is it will still be the same difficulty, since you would not have been able to work as heavy or be as fast on the treadmill. you just have to keep it up.

In the past few years I have fluctuated from 130-145 and I find losing the 10 lbs from 145-135 is MUCH easier than losing the 5 lbs from 135-130. I don't know why, maybe because I feel more content with my body? maybe because when I see higher numbers on the scale I workout harder? It's probably different for everyone though. Some people get more motivated when they see results, others get complacent.

For me, as I've gotten smaller -- I've pushed myself harder. I have less weight to carry around, so pushing myself to run faster or longer or to lift heavier weights/do more reps is easier because my body can handle it now. You just have to adjust as you go.

this!!! i've dropped 30 pounds, and have started pushing myself harder, lifting more, geting stronger, faster, tougher, harder. it is a whole lot of fun pushing (and sometimes shattering) your limits.

start tracking your workouts more closely. like your running pace, your lifting, etc. you'll surprise yourself with how much you grow.

i think it gets harder and easier at the same time. It gets harder in the sense that as i am getting closer to my goal weight (I have lost 30, have 10 left) I am happy with my new body that i do not try as hard. But it is easier in the sense that i can eat more. At my heaviest i was eating about 1400 calories to lose 1.5 lbs a week, but now i eat about 1700 to lose about .5 a week. So while it is hard to stay on the plan bc i am content with where i am, it is easier knowing i can eat a little more, those extra 300 calories can mean the world!

I don't think it's harder to lose as you get smaller, just slower. As it should be.

But I'm also of the opinion if it feels like you're struggling to lose weight (ie, hungry or tired all the time) at any point, you're working too hard at it.

when you gain calories through workout does it mean you can eat more calories or should you stay within your calorie goals?

You will get tons of different answers to this question, but for me I usually try and eat back at least some of the extra calories you earn.

This website already builds in your deficit for you, so if you eat your extra calories it will not hinder your weight loss.
