So I've been using the HRM for the past few weeks for everything from yardwork to cardio pump. I use a HRM with a chest strap.

When I'm working in the yard for a few hours, it says I burn upward of about 600-ish calories... This seems a bit obscene to me, but my information is in the computer watch...so it has to be right....right?

I feel like it's cheating when I plug in my calories burned based on the HRM info rather than the logged excercise info...

Thoughts?

your heart rate monitor is more accurate then the pre guessed logged calories, some people work harder then others.

I have the POLAR FT 40, and LOVE it. As long as you have the chest strap, I'd say, take all the BURNED calories it tells you you've taken :)

  • Yay!!!!! That makes me feel awesome. I work my butt off in the yard, so it's nice to see the calories melting away while being super productive. :)

Last weekend I burned over 1300 calories cutting down/sawing away overgrown bushes in our yard.

I have the same one and love it, so far it seems to be very accurate! Yard work is hard and some people work at different rates than others, I can go with the numbers the HRM gives you
