Aloha from Colorado........I'm a nurse here in Denver, and started my weight loss journey in August after a sleeve gastrectomy. After years of struggling with my weight and new health problems, I made this decision. I know it's not for everyone, but if any of you have questions, feel free to! I still have to work at this, it's not automatic..and I can now excercise daily!! Take care!

The sleeve is a surgical procedure (done laproscopically) in which they remove up to 80% of your stomach. You're left with a banana shaped "sleeve" which only holds about 6-8 ounces. Unlike the band, it's permanent and without foreign objects in the body. Like gastric bypass, it's permanent without some of the yucky side effects like intolerance to foods. That's a much more complicated sugery and sometimes causes other issues.
