Iron amounts in food diary

So I just realized I can watch my iron intake in my food diary. But I am confused about the daily goal amount. For someone my age I should be getting 18 mg per day, but on my food diary it says 100. Does anyone know why this is?

Iron is measured as a percentage of recommended daily intake so your target is 100% - same with some other vitamins/minerals.0

oh ok well I guess the percentage must be off then, because I have over 18 mg and its still saying I am way low.0

I got caught out a few times before I realised - if entering nutritional information for foods you have to make sure you enter the percentage but the food labels will probably list mg.0
